That wind was crazy last night!
Are you missing anything after the snow squall??
Our parents skylight blew right off their roof and it was snowing in their room! 👀

Snow Squall expected to start within the hour. Periods of brief but heavy, blowing snow causing reduced visibility expected.
Let us know how it is where you are. So far, business as usual in Fort Saskatchewan 😉

SLOW DOWN & MOVE OVER! Thank goodness this operator is OK, but there are so many that aren’t!
We had a close call with a semi last week that didn’t slow down despite having traffic control set up way before the scene. They lost control once they reached the scene and tried to slow down then- and ended up hitting the ditch right beside our recovery.

Notice: Burning at the Bruderheim Community Compost Site (off of 52nd Avenue) to start Tuesday, January 19th.
Bruderheim’s Community Compost Site, where residents deliver tree and shrub waste for disposal, is full. The cost to haul this waste to landfill is extremely high. To save money and to allow residents to continue to use the site, the compost pile will be burned. Burning at this time of year greatly reduces risk—with snow in and around the area, conditions make this is a safe and opportune time to burn.
The Town must act quickly in response to wind patterns to ensure as little smoke as possible enters the Town. Winds are expected to move in a favourable southerly direction (from the south to the north). This does not happen often, and crews are taking advantage of this to light the pile at 8:00 am on Tuesday, January 19th.
It is expected that most of the waste will burn in a day, but some items, such as stumps and roots, could take a few days. The pile will smoulder until all debris is burned. Crews will monitor the area closely throughout the entire burning process.

There’s a chance of freezing rain this morning in areas North and south of us.
